10 day relfection

Spent some time today reflecting on 10 days without my wife and 10 days with the kids.

1. I love my parents. An awesome help.
2. I love my friends here in Midlothian, VA. Truly caring people.
3. I love what the Lord reminded me off during this time. So here goes ...

There's no greater influence on a child's life than that of mother and father. I intentially took my time with the kids and gave them undivided attention.

I'm not the greatest father, but try to get better each week. Some times I hit a home run, some times I strike out miserably. At the end of the day, I'm still in the game.

FOCUS. Here's my lesson. Quit trying to multi task. Sure we can get more done, but I don't want it to come at the expense of my children's well being. They need my attention, my influence, my compassion, my discipline and my hugs, my pillow fight championship belt and wrestlemania title bouts (2 and 4 year old version).

When I try to multitask, I get easily frustrated and don't do well at much.

I hope this resonates with you. If there's anyone that will comment well on their heritage and legacy, I pray it would be my children.

Perennials

It's not often that I get the privilege of having my parents come down to Richmond, Va. They'll be leaving in an hour and thought I'd share a thought. My mom planted some perennials in the backyard. I've got no clue what that means but she's says they'll show up in the spring.

Anyways this so true of parenting. They've instilled certain things in me over the years that have produced a return year in and year out. Thanks mom for the life lesson in sowing and reaping.

Sad to see em go.
